Don't get me wrong. I don't want an award or for my picture to be in the newspaper for Samaritan-Of-the-Week, but the least you could do is say thank you.
Or when people take stuff from you and return it all battered and abused, without even the slightest of acknowledgments.
For any politician that I come across in my life, I have only two words- Fuck you. vans and trucks full of hooligans drove on the streets of Chennai yesterday because supporters of some politician were gathering at Marina to celebrate his something. We, the ones not in these vans, were in turn treated to loud blaring music, rambunctious dances and cheering and traffic jams so long that most of us just abandoned our vehicles and took to walking to get to places in time.
Where these cars and vans stopped in the middle of roads, ardent fans got off and relieved themselves on the roadside. Cheering increased when a girl was in sight. Driving became rasher as the urge to compete with one another grew.
And I was ready to commit murder.
On that extremely positive note, I leave you to enjoy your Sunday.

oh it gets better when there's a religious connotation.
people pee in rivers, play loud music praising lords (set in hindi music tunes), spit paan all around...lech to their hearts desires and then pray the lord as innocently as ever.
i just love my people :P
Hello,
Completely empathize. I have the misfortune of living on Island Grounds, and was returning home last night for the weekend when I discovered that my normally idyll, clean street had turned into a riot zone.
Interestingly, I saw this gigantic cutout (one of many) of 'Captain' Vijaykant just beside the statue of Thomas Munroe on a horse.
Same horse, new horsemen, me thinks.
I couldn't agree with this post more. If there's one thing that rally achieved yesterday, it's convincing me against ever voting for the DMDK.
Also, it's Samaritan, not Smartian. A Smartian is a Smart Martian, which I'm assuming you're not.
@nav: Oh yes.
It does.
Thankfully I wasn't treated to any of those sights, or I'd be on the run by now.
@tbc: Lol. I pity the horse though :D
@Koze: Early morning, too much running around to get to places in time, spelling mistake. Thank you for pointing it out.
I have never before felt this angered at the state of politics and the people who run this country.

HA..u see.. im back again um.. AGAIN.. :) .. have got net in my room finally :) hence i shall be online a LOT more often.. and yes i empathize with u completely.. have u seen a bus day celebration?? its madness.. they used to pass my house everyother day.. leaving behind, excretions from most of their orifices, flowers and the smell of booze.. :). but then again political rallies are much worse.. and that stretch on teh marina is the worst .. didnt they ban activities on teh beach though?
i very stupidly commented on this on facebook first, but i'll leave another comment here anyway telling you that i commented there.
confused? happy monday!
@vishal: Oh yay. Politics and money my dear friend, politics and money.
@A: Muah! My kind of a person :D

I was unbelievably frustrated too.. Vans, tempos and buses drove past my place for nearly 3-4 hours, and these idiots sitting on top of the bus were pulling on wires hanging across the road. God knows how many phone and electrical lines got cut that day!
Oh, and one of the tempos broke down a few buildings away.. these gentlemen decided to sleep on the portico there, eat there, and use it as a public bathroom. In the morning, the poor owner was shocked at the mess - and of course, by then, they were long gone.
Oh and btw.. everytime I open your blog, I get these weird grunting noises.. It doesn't happen in any other site. Any idea what could be the problem?
It's the sheep at the bottom of the sidebar.
Click on the mute button near it.

Most of Mumbai loves being rude. I don't understand why is it considered fashionable to be arrogant in behaviour and miserly in appreciation down here. But I doubt everyone means it from the bottom of their heart.
Talk about rallies, I share the same 'murderous' sentiments too. MNS did create a havoc today! Wished I could have provoked everyone in the bus to get down and beat that lot up who were pelting stones for nothing.
damn it! i was gonna tell saranya it was you grunting, groaning and sighing!
@illuminator: This country is going to the dogs.
@sis: lol.
