Me, as dumb as I am, think it's an absolute waste of life and money. No amount of reasons, justifications or "peer pressure" can be an excuse enough for a person to go down this particular road.
Nosirr. This is one place where I know what to think and what not to. You can tell me it gives you a high and makes you feel like your flying... well i'll tell you... If you wanna fly, stick a parachute bag on your back and jump from a chopper and flap your hands... THAT is called flying. The only high this drug-booze-thing helps you reach is the highest high a person can reach... You know that place above the clouds, where harps play music, you see birds twittering around your head.. and you find yourself with a set of wings and in a white gown....!!! You take your family along too... not to mention all the dear people who happen to be on the road while your drive... it's a free for all thing,eh?
You can tell me it's the "cool" thing...Mister, this will only end you up in a morgue so chilled up that no amount of heat can de-freeze you, yeah??
It's an escape to some people from the realities of this big bad world. You're what they call a poltroon then. If you have problems then deal with them damnit. You've got clothes on you, money in your pocket, a family, enough to fill your stomach and a roof over your head... what more can a person ask for?? What do you crib about when there are people without limbs, eyesight, money and in a million other more horrible situations that you are... fighting and facing what's in front of them... But, you? Nah...You stick your tail in between your legs and take the easy way out... Coward.
The first thing I noticed when I came to Chennai was that every road leads to a temple. And every road had at least two shops that sold liquor... What's more amusing is that each of these shops have names of God's and Goddesses on them. Does that imply it's the bestest thing to do when your in trouble?? It implies TROUBLE. People first drink and kill and then go to these temples, catch their ears and ask for forgiveness..!!
This whole living in boozeland thing only ends up creating hell for you and your family. It's OK to enjoy a good maritini or champagne or whatever at a party or something... Why turn it into an obsession or a hobby?

i totally agree...drinking, drugs, fagging...i don't get the point..its one of the dumbest and worst things you can do to yourself and to the people who love you...
especially fagging...you don't get high when you fag...do you? if it doesnt even make you feel good, its even dumber than the rest...

Anyway, I agree with everything you've said. If you start one of these habits, you'll just get into one of those hopeless ruts that you can't get out of, and at one point you won't be able to live without them, even though they don't give you the same pleasure anymore.

if ur talking abt this post in particular... just because i dnt like ppl ruining their lives for the sake of feeling "high" or forgetting real life issues, doesn't mean I have no idea as to what i'm talking abt.
I assure you I do. I knw atleast 10 ppl at the back of my hand.. why ppl? friends!! who ruin/ did ruin their lives. It dsnt take much to encourage them to give this up... jst a tad bit of love, in most cases.

I drink... and i smoke... and was badly addicted to drugs till my mom helped me quit em. Im happy u said U think its a waste of money. Because i actually like the slight buzz u get when u have a couple of swigs of beer. In small amounts alcohol is actually a good thing and i consume it only in small amounts. In fact the main reason i drink beer is causwe i love the taste. But Shtupid u gotta understand somethin. Not every1 has the presence of mind or the mental strength to resist temptation. I started smoking due to peer pressure when i was young and foolish as they put it. And u only get high the first couple of times. After that it just becomes a neacsity.. Feels like hunger.. As far as the high goes dont diss it cause it is actually nice once in a while. Regarding the drugs i agree. I was an escapist fool when i turned to drugs but i dont regret it. Drugs are what changed my entire outlookl to life. Im glad i got rid of the addiction but u dont know what addiction feels like. Its like a hunger that cant be satisfied without the drug. People realise what is goin on usually too late but are already hooked. So its not the high that is addictive.. Its a proper addiction. Regarding the smoking u dont get high but its really tough to quit as within 3 smokes there are changes made to ur nervous system making u dependant on nicotine for production of the hormone dopamine in the brain. Its also linked to the sugar level in the blood so is propotional to hunger. Ill post a blog on this sa soon as i figure out my password and username.. lol.
