" By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest."

ma tujhe salaam

The other day I was flipping through channels, and came across a special story on NDTV. I know I know, the bloddy channel keeps making me write and you are forced to read ;) what say u ? sue them?!!

Anyway, the special was about celebrations world over to celebrate the 135th birth anniversary of the father of this nation. Mahatma Gandhi. The ol' man had his faults.. but his path of ahimsa,i.e., non-violence, still comands respect among people, around the world. Amongst the various peace marches by students, all over Gujarat, there was one school that did something special.

Each child was asked to write a letter to another child in Pakistan. These letters were to be carried across the border, by two Americans.... I don't know when the englishmen turned smart, but all I could think of was " Well I'll be damned! It's finally happening!!"

That was when the reality of these peace talks between the PM's of both the nations, actually sank in. Something was finally happening. It's high time that we stopped JUST talking and DID something! It's high (another high) time these religion fanatics and leaders stopped making this "war" a publicity stunt. It's high ( another another high) time we stopped fighting over which side of the line is yours and which side is mine. It's high ( this time, I'm on top of Mt. Everest) we stopped finding ourselves...
"... at the head of lines we should not lead
or behind lines we never should have crossed."

Land is land. It's as much yours as it is mine. There's no "this rightfully belongs to me".... what our leaders did THEN, they did. Why fight over it now? Borders, are just lines, that are drawn on a map, so that there's more to doodle in geography class...

When children, at the age of 12, realise that there is no difference between another child of the same age, 'just because he/she lives in a different country... why can't the people who run these coutries realise the same? Why do people 4 times this age, go around bombing cities in the name of religion? How does it make a difference if I say "mubarak ho" or "congratulations" or "badhaiyan"??? They all mean the same thing. If I want to call God, Christ, I will. If another wants to call him Allah or Ram or whoever, he will.... how does that make him a lesser man???

.....questions. Questions. Questions. The only answer to them lies within ourselves. Greed. Power. Pah!! The idiots!!! We should stop trying to put ourselves above others and others below us. There ARE no higher men and there exit no lower men... there ARE smarter men and foolish men. To date, the foolish have caused death while the so called smart have played .... Finally!! The smart are acting smart and doing something...the smaller they are the smarter they are acting!

:D

People fail to realise that people in Pakistan are our bethren. Politicians would try all ways to cash in on anything which would create a sensation and Pakistan is definitely one of them. I fail to understand why a "Pakistani" should always be treated as an enemy across the border. Why? Why? Why? If you were to ask a stauch Paki-hater, all he would reason out would be the actions of the Pakistani government. This is similar to hating all muslims for Islamic extremism.

As long as our stupid people realize that they are trump cards in the hands of the politicians, just hatred is bound to continue. God help us!

There is a lot of truth in what Preetika has said, and I think that it is idiotic to fight over land.

A recent article in Outlook, however, shows how Pakistani schools brainwash their children into having anti-hindu and anti-India feelings. I'll see if I can provide a link to that article. It was quite shocking. There are anti-India statements even in the science textbooks. Children are innocent, and they hold no differences between each other, but how long will it last if these children are being taught the wrong things?

You can read the article I mentioned above here:

I don't know if this works as a hyperlink, so you may have to copy and paste it into the browser.

i think all this sensationalised hatred between the two countries is just a way to let people sit up and take notice..but this isnt the wya it should be done...how many of us actually know what's happening.do we know whats happening in our country?? i agree though that children being made to think what they shouldn't isn't right...innocence corrupted

I'd like to know what exactly offended you. I don't guarentee that I'll take it off the site, but I would like to know regardless.
