If
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And to hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
This is by Rudyard Kipling and one of my most favorite pieces of poetry. I can read it a million times and not once get bored.... each line holds so much meaning and makes so much sense, even to a commoner like me..Read it carefully... its beautiful....I hope u liked reading it.....!!!!

Haven't read that one...it's damn good.
hmm... honestly it gets irritating...all this again and again ...so much of this stuff everywhere yet we dont strive to even use any single type of virtue or excellence... this is in general... not sayin YOU or HIM...honestly will it make the world a better place...
thats the problem ninju!! u have build ur own virtue... dnt not do things jst 'cuz sum1 else aint...
no my point is no one IS doing it...
wow. its really beautiful...
it makes so much sense too...its one of those things that you should live by...
Brock is always trying to get me to post on others blogs, and without taking the chance that you all think I'm stuck up, I hadnt felt like I should. Yet this poem speaks to me from the past. I find it amazing that words never die, fill us with desire to keep living, and inspire us to fulfill our dreams. That is exactly what this poem makes me want.
I think all good poetry invokes our emotions to such a point that we can go back to being who we were before we read the poem. I, for one, know that I will always be different for having read this Kipling poem. Thank you for posting it for all of us to read.
that's the bestest thing any one has said to me... thank you.
I love the poem.. and everytime i can't make a decision, or lose my way.. i read it.. and that's jst abt all it takes..
